After seven years of panicking that i’ve lost the years’ class list, and then meticulously hand writing V-Day cards for family & classmates for both Mo’ and Bubba, I was grossly surprised to be graced by Mo’s assistance on Monday evening. We sat at our dining room table. With me writing the childrens’ names on the envelopes, and she stuffing the envelopes after penciling/sharpie-ing a personal note to each recipient. I was considerably touched that she was so excited to do this. I have always thought this was mommy’s job — “Make sure kids are not at school empty handed!“ AND, on a more selfish note, “Make sure you are contributing to other kid’s dental decay, bed wetting, and rambunctiousness.” We all must do our part, I say!

- V-Day love and lil’ helpers
Sitting next to Mo’, rubbing elbows, and giggling at her stories that enter her mind as she writes the sweet, gushing missives. “Sabrina is such a nice girl, Mom“. “Stu has three letters in his first and his last name.“ It dawned on me, I don’t remember doing this sort of thing with my mom. Now, don’t get me wrong. I probably have forgotten, as there are many things that have slipped through the cracks (which have turned into caverns as each year passes), so no hate mail for good ol’ moms. But, I sure do hope my lil’ one remembers [cocked brow, chin tilt, majestic stare].
Realistically, I’m sure Marvelous Mo’ will not. For now we have the memories/experiences while they are fresh. After scribing our notes, eyeing up our end-product with satisfaction, Mo’ ran and got her shoe box that she decorated while she was “sick”. The box had a sweet message on it “For love, push here!” I thought that was such a great summary on how Morgan sees the ease of love. Just push a button and there ya have it. Whap-bam-boo, I love you! Lesson for today, is to know that these events of sharing between she and I are for us. Not for her to know how great and fantastic I am from here until eternity [would be nice, but will endlessly set me up for failure] AND to enjoy the love between she and I as it happens. We can even get it instantly by just pushing a button!

That’s what it is all about! She’ll remember! xoxo
