So Mo’ and ‘Ox really are an amazing set of siblings. They love to do EVERYTHING together. The have separate beds (bunk beds) and Hubs and I can put them in different beds at the end of an evening, only to find that they have found there way back to each other through the course of the evening. Should they sit on the couch, Mo’ will wrap her arm under ‘Ox’s chin and feel his ear lobe (don’t ask, they won’t tell). And if one is upset and crying they will always run to the other for a consoling hug (unless of course the sibling is the source of the blubbering). They feed each other. The involve the other in every choice, funny story, or triumph. They ask the other for help. They hold hands all the time. They are best friends.
Now not that the aforementioned isn’t strange enough (as they are three + years apart), I felt the need to share with you the funniest of weird Co-Living that these two do. I happened to have noticed about a year ago, that when the kids wake up, they have to travel through the double bathroom to enjoin the rest of the house (and hubs and my bedroom). So, naturally, as they walk past the potty they tinkle before starting their day. The amazing part of this is Maddox will let Mo’ use the throne first, and will SIT AT HER FEET and wait. He sits on the bathroom mat in front of the potty and will quietly wait for his turn and his sister.
I get tickled when I see this, and I will always reflect on my siblings and myself. I don’t think we EVER did anything so sharing (habitually) when we were growing up. Yes my sister, who is less than two years older than me, would share my clothes (one-way) with herself. My brothers…. well they just were in the same house with me.
And before I start getting any smack from the peanut gallery, I love that my kids do everything together. I hope it lasts forever. They are an amazing Duo! They are funny, loving, generous, and supportive of each other. And a mom couldn’t ask for anything more. Goodness, me I hope this lasts! While it is currently existing I will admire it!
